The icy wind blew the hair off her face. Her clear green eyes glistened with moisture, but no tears fell. She bit her trembling lip until it bled and delighted in the salty sweet flavour in her mouth. The wind blew again and a light sprinkling of dust settled over the newly placed tombstone, but not enough to hide the words.
                                               Beloved Husband
Fresh tears came to her eyes, but still none fell. An old couple walked past her through the graves, arms wrapped around each other. Tears fell freely from the woman’s eyes and the man gently wiped them away. Together forever. She watched them leave the graveyard, then whispered quietly, “My love, I stand here, newly wed and freshly widowed. Why did you do it? You said that as long as you had me, you would be happy. But when you got me you lost your family. They never liked me. They wouldn’t forgive you for marrying me. They cast you out, and you couldn’t take it. But do you think I am strong enough for this?” her voice rose, high and hysterical, but still not a tear fell. Blood from her lip fell on the flowers in her hands. “Didn’t you know what you would do to me? Of course you didn’t! You were always a selfish bastard! But I loved you for it, and I still do. Together forever until death so us part. But why should death part us? What is the point of life after death if you cannot live it with those whom you love?” At last a single tear fell from her eye. She placed the flowers carefully on the freshly dug grave. Anyone watching would’ve seen what she was going to do, but there was no one there; no one to see; no one to hear her last desperate cry. “You cannot leave me like this!”

A loud shot shattered the sleepy silence. A startled bird flew out of the tree at the edge of the graveyard as a woman fell, blood pouring into the ground as if she hoped her blood would bring back her dead husband. As she fell the gun slipped from her hand and landed on the bouquet of blood-stained flowers.

It's good but the reason for his husband's death is a little vague.

i completely got it. don't change a thing.

the feelings and emotions in this are so tangible... it's great.

i've never heard of blood tasting "salty sweet" it's usually metallic or something.
But this is great.
